Dr. Ian Smith and moving towards a Healthier State
The Arkansas Minority Health Commission is partnering with the Governor's Office, Arkansas Aging Institute, State Farm Insurance and Pfizer Pharmaceutical Company to bring Dr. Ian Smith for a luncheon on April 16, 2008 at 11:30am to the Embassy Suites, located on 11301 Financial Centre Parkway in Little Rock, AR. The purpose of Dr. Smith's visit is to promote Arkansas moving towards a healthier state.
Dr. Ian Smith is currently the medical/diet expert on VH1's highly-rated "Celebrity Fit Club," host of "Meet the Faith" on BET, and the creator and founder of The 50 Million Pound Challenge. Dr. Smith is also the hosts of his own nationally syndicated radio show Health Watch on American Urban Radio Networks. He is the former medical correspondent for NBC News network and for News Channel 4 where he filed reports for NBC's "Nightly News" and the "Today" show as well as WNBC's various news broadcasts. He has appeared extensively on various broadcasts including "The View," "The Tyra Banks Show," "Larry King Live," and "Anderson Cooper 360." He has written for various publications including Time, Newsweek, Men's Health, and the New York Daily News, and has been featured in several other publications including, People, Essence, Ebony, Cosmopolitan, and University of Chicago Medicine on the Midway.
