Arkansas Racial and Ethnic Health Disparity Study
Arkansas Racial and Ethnic Health Disparity Study

County Estimate Data By Year

Racial Attitudes Study

University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR) UALR Institute of Government Survey Research Center (SRC) has conducted a Pulaski County Racial Attitude Survey for the last 5 years to stimulate discussion and action with respect to race relations in Arkansas. Issues of race and race relations have affected all aspects of our society.

In previous years focus areas have included religion, local government, community involvement, and education.  This year the Arkansas Minority Health Commission collaborated with the Survey Research Center to focus on health and healthcare.

The Racial Attitudes in Pulaski County survey was conducted between October 13 and December 18, 2007.  A total of 1,671 telephone interviews were conducted with a stratified random sample of residents, 18 years of age and older in Pulaski County, Arkansas.  The study focuses on black/white relations; the data analysis is divided into four geo-racial groups:  LR-blacks; LR-whites; OLR-blacks; and OLR-whites.

This county survey gives us more insight and helps us understand health and health care in the context of race and ethnicity in order to stimulate discussion and action to eliminate racial and ethnic health disparities in the state of Arkansas.

We invite you to read the entire study on University of Arkansas at Little Rock website.
